Beta programme — the rules of the game

This page is being rewritten. Below is what changed and what is true today.

What changed on 1 August 2026

The beta used to work like this: you paid £99 to join, the unit stayed ours, and you flew off the rest of a £449 value at £10 a validated hour until it was yours at 35 hours. That arrangement is withdrawn.

A beta unit is now a single purchase: £165.83 plus VAT, £199 including VAT, paid once. The unit is yours on delivery. There are no hours to fly off, no balance, no rate and no tiers. If you buy one and never upload a flight, you still own it. The price is subsidised and the cohort is capped.

Sending us your flights is now a separate and entirely optional thing — the contributor programme. It awards points. Points are not money, have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Nothing you own depends on it.

Why this page is short

The old rules were a money rulebook, and every number in them is now wrong. Rather than renumber them and hope, we have taken them down. The replacement terms are being drafted with our accountant and they will be published here before any unit is sold under the new arrangement. We would rather show you an unfinished page than a tidy one that is not true.

If you are already in the programme

Nothing that was agreed with you changes. No part of this applies to you unless you ask for it and it leaves you better off. We will write to you directly rather than expect you to find it on a page.

What has not changed

  • Your flights belong to you. You can export or delete them from your dashboard at any time.
  • What we use for research is anonymised: pressure traces and track geometry, never your name or contact details. Details in the Privacy Policy.
  • AI personalisation (ParaGuru) is off by default and controlled by you in Settings.
  • If the unit fails through no fault of yours, we repair or replace it at our cost.
  • Support is direct email contact with the team; we aim to respond within 24–48 hours.
